Bagby Facts: For more information on the past, present, and future of Bagby please check out the Story Page
· The hot spring comes up at about 136° F, about 25 gallons per minute. · The hot spring was used for hundreds of years by Native Americans before Robert Bagby “discovered” it in the 1880’s. · Bagby Hot Springs has been an important area for hundreds of years. It still is today! (Find out why on the Stories Page) · The historic cabin was built in 1913 by Phillip Putz. It is on the National Register of Historic Places as “one of the best preserved cabin/shed combinations of only 6 in the Pacific Northwest”. · There are references to soaking in hollowed out cedar logs at Bagby as far back as 1906. (Check out the Links Page) · Friends of Bagby Hot Springs, Inc. built the current structures in 1984-1986. They continued operation and maintenance until March 2002.
